About the Peñasquito Local Suppliers program
In 2020, Minera Peñasquito S.A. de C.V., subsidiary of Newmont Corporation and in charge of the operation of the Peñasquito mine in Mexico, created the “Local Content Superintendency” within its Supply Chain department. The Superintendency was designed to strengthen and optimize its local purchases and contracts with local micro, small and medium size enterprises (local MSMES) located in the Zacatecas state, where Peñasquito operates, with special emphasis in 25 communities located in the immediate area of operations.
The local content business platform is an initiative lead by the Local Content Superintendency of Peñasquito Supply Chain, to facilitate access to commercial information and training for companies in Zacatecas that may be interested in becoming suppliers to Minera Peñasquito.

About Peñasquito
Peñasquito, located about 780 kilometres northwest of Mexico City, produces gold, silver, lead and zinc. There's an airport on site, and a 1,900-bed camp with full dining, laundry and recreational facilities. The operation has an open pit mine, Peñasco, and two processing facilities.
Minera Peñasquito interacts with 25 neighboring communities that are within our area of direct influence, distributed across three municipalities of the State of Zacatecas: Mazapil, Concepción del Oro and Melchor Ocampo, which collectively total more than 5,000 inhabitants.
