About Peñasquito
Peñasquito is located about 780 kilometers northwest of Mexico City and produces gold, silver, lead and zinc. There is an airport on site, and a 1,900-bed camp with full dining, laundry and recreational facilities. The operation has a Peñasco open pit, and two processing facilities.
Minera Peñasquito interacts with 25 neighboring communities in the area of direct influence, distributed in three municipalities in the State of Zacatecas: Mazapil, Concepción del Oro and Melchor Ocampo, which together total more than 5,000 inhabitants.
