About Peñasquito's Local Suppliers Program

In 2020, Minera Peñasquito S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Newmont Corporation and responsible for the operation of the Peñasquito mine in Mexico, created the "Local Content Superintendence" within its Supply Chain Department. This Superintendence was designed to strengthen and optimize purchases and contracts Suppliers with micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs Suppliers) located in the state of Zacatecas, where Peñasquito operates, with special emphasis on 25 communities located in its direct area of influence.

The local content business platform is an initiative led by the Local Content Superintendence of Peñasquito's supply chain, to facilitate access to business information and training for companies in Zacatecas that may be interested in becoming Local of Minera Peñasquito.

About Peñasquito

Peñasquito is located about 780 kilometers northwest of Mexico City and produces gold, silver, lead and zinc. There is an airport on site, and a 1,900-bed camp with full dining, laundry and recreational facilities. The operation has a Peñasco open pit, and two processing facilities.

Minera Peñasquito interacts with 25 neighboring communities in the area of direct influence, distributed in three municipalities in the State of Zacatecas: Mazapil, Concepción del Oro and Melchor Ocampo, which together total more than 5,000 inhabitants.
